Scott Lewis / 60504 Pamela Anderson is consoled by her husband, Sheldon, at the site where their daughter, Jenni, died in an accident involving a drunken driver. Community members organized a march to remember Jenni and her two friends, Allison Matzdorf and Jennifer Roberts, and a mother from Aurora who also died in the accident. Speakers at the march discussed ways to battle the problem of drunken driving.
Jeffrey Durham loads the vault of Justin Bialiolisa Onwordi into the grave at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh. Onwordi was killed in Baghdad while serving as an Army medic. Durham works for Wilbert Ultimate Service Provider that made the military service vault that Onwordi was buried in. Even though Durham has worked six other veterans' funerals, this was the first Iraqi service combat death he worked since starting on this job in July 2004. "It hits you differently for what he died for," Durham said of burying a combat casualty. "(He was) fighting for us while we're over here." Onwordi was a Nigerian immigrant serving in the military.

Scott Lewis / 60504 A visitor stops at the site where Naperville teens Jenni Anderson, Jennifer Roberts and Allison Matzdorf were killed on Friday. While traveling south on Eola Road the sixteen year old girls were struck by a driver traveling east on New York. Anna Louisa Pryor, a Naperville woman, was also killed in the accident.

Scott Lewis / 60504 Our Lady of Mercy church parishoners celebrate their first mass in their new building September 20. The church's over 3,000 parishoners spent nine years without a building, worshiping at Waubonsie Valley High School and an office space in a neighborhood strip mall.
